The VANE is a Korean rock band based on the singer and guitarist Bo-Hoon Chae who also is a songwritter.

Could you present yourself?
Band “The VANE” is actively performing with member of three; based on me (Bo-Hoon Chae). At the moment, I am working together with drum and bass sessions and occasionally doing acoustic gigs. Recently we are actively performing since the new album [ROUND] is out.
How would you describe your music genre and your influences?
It is based on the alternative powerful sound fused into mystic space. My music influence derives from Korean rock music. I listened to more Korean rock music than foreign ones as I grew up.
You are doing many live performances. What do you like when playing live and what makes you want to go back on stage every time?
I believe I can perform continuously as I can share the feelings and thoughts of the songs on each stage. I think I will always want to perform and I believe the stage is where I belong.
You recently released the single « Alone ». Could you tell us more about this song and what it talks about?
I believe the memories can fade away but the reminiscence stays through the time wholly. I am quite satisfied as this song is written as I imagined.
This single was followed by a new album, « ROUND ». What were your sources of inspiration for this new album?
I tried revealing stories that are not from books but things that only I have inside my mind. And this was the key source in making this album. And I think the album can be interpreted in many different ways suited to each person’s circumstances.
How do you imagine The VANE in 10 years?
I hope I will be performing and singing in 10 years of time.
Can we hope to see you in France and in Europe in a few years?
I have actually made a passport quite recently. It would be great if I could get the first stamp at France. I wish to go there if any invitation is made.
What would you do today if you weren’t an artist?
Perhaps do the hardest job in the world, ‘student preparing to get a job’.
What do you think about what Kpop is today?
Some other music will come out tomorrow. Then the songs of yesterday will gradually get forgotten and the music get consumed too quickly.
