Interview disponible en français en première page !
Last December, the Korean crew ROCK BOTTOM announced a new tour throughout Europe, and this time Paris is on the gig’s list! The concert in Paris is organized at the Gibus Club, and at first was scheduled on February 8th, but the entire tour was postponed, and the French concert will now be on April 18th. We’re now a few days from the concert, and fans are getting more and more excited, but we have something to help you wait a little bit longer!
Together with our partners 33 Degrees, CKJ’s team had the opportunity to interview the 5 artists of the crew who are coming to Paris in a few days. Kidoh, i11evn, Rwam, Supreme Boi and Hashmate will perform at the Gibus Club on April 18th. We are pleased to reveal today what Kidoh, i11evn and Rwam confessed during the interview! Stay tuned for Supreme Boi and Hashmate’s answers!
KIDOH
You had the opportunity to debut in a K-Pop group [ed: Topp Dogg in 2013], what did you get from this experience? What did you use for your solo rap career?
I learned how the Korean entertainment system works. I think I learned at least a little bit about what people have in their mind.
You already performed in Paris with your former band, what are you excepting from your next gig in Paris with a whole new crew?
I only have good memories of back then, and I hope it to be the same this time as well.
You released the EP “S.O.H.K” last June, did you begin to prepare your next album?
The next album’s songs are already complete and we plan to start releasing them sequentially from late May.
I11EVN
Your rap is influenced by the U.S rap industry, but do you know some European rap artists who can give you some inspiration?
I know Big Shaq is a British comedian and rapper. The joyfulness of the absurd lyrics made me think new things about writing.
You recently asked your fans on Instagram to let you know the song they want to hear in Europe, but what is your favorite song to perform on stage?
I’ll be happy to perform what the crowd wants. Fans wanted to hear “Hometown” the most.
A lot of your fans think that you’re currently preparing the release of your next album. Have you got some information about this?
New album within this year, not exactly sure what month it will be.
RWAM
You’re doing music since years now but you debuted as a singer in 2017 with “37.2“. How did that change your career?
Previously, it was all about writing other people’s songs and participating in featurings. After I made my debut with “37.2”, and unlike my expectation, many people like my album and I still receive feedback that they still listen to it. I am so happy about it. I’m a man without greediness, but this album made me want more.
Now that you’re officially a singer, what is your role within Rock Bottom? Is composition still your main activity?
I hate to draw the line in fact, but the position I sing in the ROCKBOTTOM crew is my main activity and I will definitely take my position in the future.
Your personal music is really different from the rest of the crew, more soul oriented, is it a strength or a difficulty?
It depends on how I do it. At first, I felt a lot of difficulties because of my timid personality. I hid myself and I followed things that I can not do well, and it only got more difficult. But nowadays, as I acknowledge and accept myself, it seems rather uncomfortable and does not feels like a strength or a difficulty itself. I’m just going to do my best and do my job well.
