The team of CKJ has already introduced the importance of busking in South Korea. A lot of you might regret a little bit the lack of performances in Western countries, such as France. However, while walking near the place of Trocadéro, we were surprised to hear music from a duo, coming right from South Korea.
East353, this is two friends who are eagerly looking for adventures and experiences! Jeon Yebin, the singer with deep voice, is accompanied by Taek, an outstanding guitar player. These two boys told us they were traveling around Europe to make a project come true, maybe the first step of their career!
After listening to the covers of “All I Want” by Kodaline, “Say Something” by A Great Big World, or even the famous “Shape of My Heart” by Sting, the team has decided to meet the two talented and humble artists. Friendly with the crowd, the two boys didn’t hesitate one second to answer our questions. Enjoy!
Can you introduce yourself and describe your band?
Yebin: We are playing pop and acoustic music. It’s only the two of us playing. Our name is East353. ‘East’ is a reference to South Korea and ‘353’ to numbers of Ireland. We have started to play in Dublin in 2015. Then, we went back to Korea to play and we have planned this project ‘Europe Busking Tour’. Paris is our first stop. The next city where we are going to play is Milan, in Italy.
Do you compose songs?
Yebin: We are composing but most of the time, we don’t play our songs, we are only doing covers, because [our songs] are not famous and have yet to be improved.
Do you plan on performing on stages?
Yebin: There are no venues where we can perform. Our stage is the street.
Taek: Sometimes, for some sessions, there are also a bassist and a drummer. We wanted to be closer with the audience, that is why we are here.
How do you feel about playing in one of the most famous places of Paris?
Yebin: We were really nervous at the beginning, but the audience supported us with money, with cheers. We then relaxed and the stress evaporated.
Which artists have an influence on your music?
Yebin: Ed Sheeran? U2? Mainly Western artist. But we also love K-Pop overall.
Unfortunately, they just wrapped up their stop in Paris. The duo has flown to Milan and we hope that we could be able to meet them again at the stage they wish to experience.

We would like to thank East 353 for this moment of pleasure!
